Privacy Policy

Your privacy matters — especially when it comes to your body. This Privacy Policy explains what personal data Olivia collects, how we use and protect it, and the choices and rights you have. It applies to the Olivia website, quiz, and app (the “Service”).

1. Data we collect

Information you give us

• Quiz and cycle information — your answers about your cycle, symptoms, goals, and lifestyle. Some of this is health data, treated as a special (sensitive) category and given extra protection.
• Your first name — if you choose to give it. The name field is optional and you can skip it.
• Account details — such as your email address, if you create an account.
• Payment information — processed by our payment provider; we do not store your full card details.

Information collected automatically

• Device and usage data, such as browser type, pages viewed, and general analytics.
• Cookies and similar technologies (see “Cookies” below).

2. How we use your data

• to personalize your plan, insights, and predictions;
• to provide, maintain, and improve the Service;
• to process payments and manage subscriptions;
• to communicate with you about the Service;
• to keep the Service safe and comply with our legal obligations.

3. How we ask, and our legal bases

Before the quiz starts, the first screen tells you that you are about to enter information about your body and links to this policy. Continuing past that screen is how you give us your agreement to process what you enter. There is no separate consent form beyond that notice, and we do not ask you to tick a box.

Where GDPR or UK GDPR applies, we treat that agreement as your consent for the health information you enter, and we rely on the performance of our contract with you to provide and bill the Service, on our legitimate interests to improve and secure it, and on legal obligations where they apply.

You can withdraw at any time: stop the quiz, or email info@heyolivia.co and we will delete what we hold about you. Your quiz answers stay in your own browser until you choose to continue, and clearing your browser data removes them.

4. How we share data

We do not sell your personal data. We share it only:

• with trusted service providers (for example, hosting, analytics, and payment processing) who act on our instructions;
• where required by law, or to protect our rights and the safety of others;
• as part of a business transfer, with continued protection of your data.

AI features

Some parts of Olivia are written by an AI model. Our AI provider is OpenRouter, which routes what we send to Google's Gemini model. This can involve processing outside your country (see section 11).

Two things may be sent:

• Your first name, if you choose to give it, so the quiz can write you a short personal line.
• Anything you type into the chat with Olivia, together with a summary of your quiz answers, so it can write a reply. The chat is optional — if you do not type anything, nothing of yours is sent from it.

We send only what is needed to generate that text. We never send your email address or payment details, and the AI provider is not permitted to use your data to train models. AI-generated text is for information and support only — it is not medical advice and not a diagnosis. If something concerns you, please speak to a doctor or midwife.

Both are optional. Skip the name field and the AI screen will not appear; skip the chat and nothing you write is processed this way.

5. Cookies and analytics

Some cookies are needed for the Service to work at all, and these are set without asking. Two of ours record which version of the quiz you were shown, so you keep seeing the same one. When you open the payment step, our payment provider also sets its own cookies in its card form to check that the payment is genuine.

Analytics cookies are different. On the website we ask you first, and nothing analytics-related loads until you answer. If you decline, no analytics cookies are set and no events are sent, and that choice is kept — entering the quiz later does not override it.

If you arrive straight at the quiz, for example from an ad, we do not interrupt it with the question: continuing through the quiz is taken as your agreement to analytics. Either way, analytics tells us which screen you reached and where people stop — it does not receive your answers, your name, or anything you type. You can change your mind by clearing this site’s data in your browser, which brings the question back.

6. Data retention

We keep your personal data only as long as necessary for the purposes described here, or as required by law. When you delete your account, we delete or anonymize your personal data within a reasonable period, except where we must retain it for legal reasons.

7. Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:

• access the personal data we hold about you;
• correct inaccurate data;
• delete your data;
• object to or restrict certain processing;
• receive a copy of your data in a portable format;
• withdraw consent at any time.

8. Security

We use technical and organizational measures designed to protect your data. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we work to keep your information safe and to respond quickly if something goes wrong.

9. Children

People under 18 may use the Service only with the involvement and permission of a parent or legal guardian. We do not knowingly collect data from children in a way that violates applicable law. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has used the Service without your permission, email info@heyolivia.co and we will delete their data.

10. International transfers

Your data may be processed in countries other than your own. Where we transfer data internationally, we use appropriate safeguards as required by applicable law.

11. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will take reasonable steps to let you know and will update the “Last updated” date above.
